The Foundation is delighted to have been able to contribute to the Stepgates Community School “Big Splash” appeal to raise money for a new swimming pool.
The school in Chertsey, Surrey, has had to close it’s existing facility due to its age and dilapidated condition, meaning children have to travel out of the area for swimming lessons. Once completed, the pool will be available to children from other nearby schools and the local community.
Asmir visited the school this week and the children enjoyed hearing about his life as a professional footballer, getting his autograph and taking lots of selfies!
The Head Teacher, Mrs Gillian Ward thanked Asmir for the donation, and Asmir also met with Business Manager Michelle Fernandez, and Governors Geoffrey Hackett and John Gillard.
